The TransEco Centre practical purpose is taking part with government, business, and individuals in bringing about deep cuts in greenhouse gas emissions. It already does this, but in a small way. It is now engaged in plans to do so on a larger scale. In 2007, the Company entered into a contract with Luminus Group of Huntingdon. Luminus receive a 6 acre freehold, brownfield, riverside housing site. In exchange Luminus are to build 5,000m² of exhibition space, 500m² of offices let and provide funds of £1M. The contract is a great step forward, but Railworld’s Trustees have a capital gap of around £5M, - principally for the exhibition centre to be up to international standards.
